Satay, or sate in Indonesian and Malay spelling, is a Southeast Asian dish of seasoned, skewered and grilled meat, served with a sauce. It is from Indonesia and popular in Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Brunei. It also recognized and popular in Suriname and the Netherlands.
There are many different kind of sate in Indonesia and some of them do not have peanut-based sauce. For example: Sate Padang, Sate Lilit Bali, Sate Ayam Kecap, Sate Babi
Living in Sweden is a blessed but I can hardly find any authentic Asian restaurant here. And this Sate Ayam is one of many Indonesians favorite dish.
